FAQSpark ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of store merchants and their shoppers. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the FAQSpark app in connection with your Shopify store.
1. Information We Collect
When you install and use the FAQSpark app, we automatically collect certain information from your Shopify store and store visitors:
- Merchant Account Data: Your Shopify store domain name, primary email address, and active app subscription plan.
- Store Content & Configuration: Custom FAQ categories, questions, answers, product/collection assignments, and theme display configurations.
- Customer Submitted Questions: When shoppers submit questions via the storefront "Ask Question" form, we collect the submitted name, email address, phone number, subject, and question content.
- Usage & Analytics Data: Aggregated, non-personally identifiable metrics such as FAQ view counts and helpfulness votes (helpful/unhelpful) to provide analytics reports to store owners.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:
- To render and display responsive FAQ accordions and search widgets on your Shopify storefront.
- To enable shoppers to submit product inquiries directly to store merchants for moderation.
- To generate analytics metrics and helpfulness reports in your admin dashboard.
- To handle app installation, account authentication, and subscription billing via Shopify APIs.
3. Information Sharing & Third Parties
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties. We share data only with necessary service providers to operate the app:
- Shopify API: To sync store domain data, theme blocks, and app installation tokens securely.
- Service Infrastructure: Secure database servers used strictly to store app settings and published FAQ items.
4. Data Retention & GDPR Compliance
We process data in strict accordance with Shopify's Privacy & GDPR Webhook standards:
- Customer Data Redaction (`customers/redact`): Upon receiving a Shopify customer redaction request, all personal information submitted by that customer is purged within 30 days.
- Shop Redaction (`shop/redact`): If you uninstall FAQSpark, all associated store settings, FAQs, categories, and submitted questions are permanently deleted 48 hours after uninstallation.
5. Security
We implement industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) and secure database access controls to safeguard your data against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure.
